Take My Breath Away

I've been working on a love scene in my current WIP. Right now, it's titled Hunter's Salvation. We'll see if the title lasts or not.

So I've been working on this love scene and I dunno if my brain is tired or what. A newborn, a seven year old and an almost five year old will do that to you, I guess.

When you add in the 30+ stories I've written in the past, I dunno... three years, maybe four? I guess it's natural that my brain will get tired. Which is why after I finish THIS book, I'm taking a short break. I think I may take all of December off. Catch up on reading, relax, recharge... watch movies. ;o)

However, it doesn't help the current dilemma. The tired brain syndrome.

What to do for a tired brain when you absolutely have to get something done... *G* inspiration.

One movie that is always good for inspiration, to me, is Return of the King. Actually all three movies. The Green Mile. Brother Bear...I love this movie.

But I need some seriously romantic movies. The romance between Aragorn and Arwen... you know that kiss at the end? Talk about sappy sighs. When I saw the movie the first time, when this scene came on the screen, my breath hitched a little and then I just melted.

What movies make you melt? Or books... anything romantic will do.

my favourite melting scenes from a movie are the two hand holding/grabbing scenes from M.night Shyamalan's The Village. Joaquin Phoenix is always 'just' there to save his lady. and when something bad happens and she cant 'see his colour'...oh my, i usually babble like a baby...lol...great film, great romance....loving your work Shi...Brilliant.

Besides the scene when Rhett Butler carries Scarlet up the stairs in Gone With the Wind, it'd have to be the kiss that Tom Cruise shared with Kelly McGinnis in Top Gun. A definite turn-on. Just wished he weren't so outspoken about his passions off screen! Shi, life is to be lived to its fullest and you seem to be doing that in spades! Keep up the great work and enjoy your time off!

Anon, that's a great one! One of the most romantic scenes ever. Definitely the best scene in "The Village".

I really liked the '55 movie "East of Eden" with James Dean and Julie Harris. The kiss on the ferris wheel makes me melt.

I'll try to think of some others...now I'm off to work.

I love the movie Moulin Rouge, especially the scene where Satine and Christian sing the Elephant Love Medley and you can see her giving in to him little by little, oh and Come What May every time I hear that song I just melt!!! The Phantom of the Opera, I know, I know another sad one with singing too and I guess I like my romance with a lot of drama!! Best of all Pride and Prejudice I devoured this book as a school kid and loved both the new movie and the old BBC version as who can resist the scene when Darcy finally tells Elizabeth “you have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love, I love, I love you” cheesy I know but mmmm it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.

I can't remember the scene from the Village you all are talking about. I gotta check that out.

Can you believe if I told when Princess Leia and Han Solo where about to kiss and C3P0 interrupt them in the second movie? And they're about to freeze Han Solo and Leia tells him "I love you," and he says, "I know."? Okay, beat me with a stinky fish, but for some reason I think that movie is romantic.

Maybe your Muses went on vacations without giving your notice. I hate when they do that. I just hope they come back to give you that final push. And yes, take a little time-out. I sound like you need a vacation too - not just your Muses.

One of my favorite romantic movies is While You Were Sleeping with Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman. There are so many good, romantic scenes in that movie.

Another romantic movie is The Notebook. I personally think it's a little over the top cheesy, but I love the performances by Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams. They have great chemistry.
