Paranormal Experiences

Have you ever been to a fortune teller? Had Tarot cards read for you? Ever had a psychic experience? Had a visit from someone who has crossed over? Ever had the hairs on the back of your neck tickle?

I love the paranormal. I, by no means, claim to be psychic but I have had premonitions where something has actually happened. I started listening to the tingles. Some times I know when something good is about to happen. If it's just a ripple, then something nice happens. If it's really strong, then something really good happens within a couple of days. You have to stay alert for these little ripples or whatever out of the ordinary feeling you might have. I had a few ripples yesterday so we'll see.

One time my cover flats came in. That time they were really light tingles. Once when I had these strange and really strong ripples for about three days my editor called to offer me a contract. Nearly every time it pertains to my writing. Once I was walking through the kitchen and I stumbled. I knew my rejected manuscript was in the mailbox. This was before I published. Sure enough, it was there and rejected.

I've also had people who have crossed over visit me. Just a few times, but it's nice to know they're around.

So if you or someone you know has had something paranormal happen, tell me. I love hearing about other people's experiences.

Hi Karen,

I love paranormal and have had many things happen to me. I even have a short story pubbed in a Paranormal Anthology.

I have had many experiences with psychics. Some who were fakes and some that will give you shivers and be right on the money.

I have so many stories I could share with you.

My pubbed one is about a friend of mine who is a psyhcic and saved my life, literally.

I am strong believer in the paranormal and I always listen when my gut tells me something.

Great topic!!

I have never had a psychic reading, met a fortune teller, or had Tarot cards read for me. I guess that is why I am a bit skeptical. I have had the hairs on the back of my neck tickle...not sure what that means though.

And I guess the closest I have come to receiving a message from beyond could be considered coincidence (and probably is). It happened a couple of years ago. My grandma had just past away after battling cancer and we were leaving the funeral home to go to the cemetery. Well, my mom looked at her cell phone in the car and noticed that she had missed a call at some point in the day. Her caller ID said, "Grandma" because she hadn't changed it yet and we assumed that someone had called from her house. We rode to the cemetery in silence not really giving it another thought. After the graveside service as we got into the car, my dad decided to turn on the radio. Stevie Wonder's "I Just Called To Say I Love You" was the first song that came on. We all looked at each other and cried because of the missed call we had seen earlier. Maybe it was coincidence or maybe it was a message from Grandma. Who knows?

HI Karen,

I had a reading at my RWA retreat least year by the wonderful Deb Dixon and by the end of the reading we were both in tears... the cards were spot on to what was going on in my life at the time.

A few years ago I had an expreience with a psychic when we had ner over for a Christmas party with my friends...thought it would be fun. Ohmigosh, this was right before I was published and I had written Cabin Fever.... the psychic drew a picture of a cabin and asked if if meant anything to me and of course I freaked...I told her what the cabin meant and she predicted that I would sell and shortly after, I did.

I'm revising three novellas with paranormal elements and I just loved doing the research. Yes, I truly believe.

Billie Jo,
Are you going to RT? There are supposed to be a lot there this year.

The book I'm almost finished with has two ghosts in it. It's a comedy, though.

Jennifer Y,
That's a wonderful story! I love it.
When my dad passed away I waited to call our daughter because she was with her Air Force husband in Guam and I didn't want to wake them up.
When I did call and tell her she started crying and said she knew he had because she'd been awaken by my father standing at the end of her bed. He was smiling and told her he was okay now.
She looked at the clock and went back to sleep and thought she had dreamed it.
We figured the time difference and dad went to her at the exact time he passed away.

Karen,

Yes I will be at RT this year. I am really excited about it.

I come from a long line of Indian heritage that has healers and shaman's in it.

I know I have inherited the gift, but choose not to listen to it. LOL it is just to much for me. I also believe that dreams are the root of where your psychic abilities are rooted.

Anytime you want to hear a story or two, let me know!

I have one story I was going to write into a book, but since I stink at writing it will never be told - LOL.

Hugs

I get little ripples like you explained. It is usually always when something bad is going to happen. I havent ever noticed them when something good is going to happen. Maybe I'm just not paying close enough attention.

I did she a psychic back in November I beleive. I hadnt told her about my dad being sick. At the time he wasnt doing real bad. She brought him up and told me that I needed to go and see him. She was right. She also told me some really neat things about my daughter. She says there are lots of Angels around her. Said I should decorate her room with Angels. She also told me that my daughter was a healer. Only time will tell about those things. It was very interesting.

I have had some strange experiences. Years ago I was out with a friend and we were going out drinking and dancing. Went to this one bar and I kept saying I really don't want to go here but It was close and so in we went. Well a huge fight broke out and we got caught in the middle of it. My friend pulled me to safety and said she would listen to my feelings from then on.

I have had "visits" too after someone has died. When my friend Sue died I swore she was in the room when I woke up. She told me she was ok and that was it.

I've never been to a fortune teller or had my hand or cards read. I was really skeptical about this things until my grandpa on my mom side passed away. My parents were driving to drop my grandma at her apartment and I decided to stay.I was all by myself on my mom's house and I was cleaning the kitchen and all of a sudden I feel this presence, when I looked my grandpa was at the door I was kind of surprise because he had called earlier to asked my parents to drop gradma because he didnt want to drive. So I started to walk toward him and he waved at me and winked and then said, "Tell Martha I'll will always love her and that I'm okay, I love you sweet tooth" At that same moment my cell phone rang and when I hear my mom's voice I knew he had passed away. I told my mom what had happened and she didnt believe me but when I told my gradma she hug me and said thanks. I was really close to him and always been close to my grandmother, she is 87 and she is so much fun to be with.

Blackroze37---Sounds like you had a fly-by-night fortune teller. There are good ones and bad ones.

Billie Jo---I'd love to hear your story sometime! So cool about your background!

Kelley---Love the stuff about your daughter. A room decorated with angels would be sweet. I think you probably had someone read for you who knew what they were doing.

Judy F---I've had those feelings before too. Like a dark dread. I don't aways listen to them either. My mother visited me once for a few seconds to let me know she was excited to be where she was. It really helped me a lot.

Niny---I believe you!!! (See above) Your grandmother sounds so sweet!

I've never had any of these experiences but I do believe they exist. I got chills reading some of the posts, especially Niny's - but in a good way. What a wonderful way to bring your grandmother peace, Niny.
