Stretched too THIN!!!!

Oh man!

I love the Christmas season but for some reason, this year it's kicking my butt.

Well, it might have something to do with a sick preschooler, sick friends calling me to ask for help, working on THREE different books, and the fact that ... as always... I can't sleep.

Sadly, I'm not getting much accomplished on my book(s). So I think it's time for a plan. Less email, less shopping~Santa's already bought the kids everything in the known universe anyway!~ less play time and just focus on writing.

The good news is... I have finished one book, and a second is coming along really well, but the ideas for that one tie into the next two I plan on writing, and I'm going to go ahead and start them and hopefully they will all flow together.

Christmas is almost here and then things do slow down a little. Soooooo if I can just hold on a little long...and if I can just keep the kids healthy... and NOT ANSWER THE PHONE... I may get some work done.

Don't you all ever feel stretched out to the limit?

And I haven't forgotten... I'll be drawing a winner here in the next few days!

Hope you are able to take some time to relax soon, and that everyone around you gets to feeling better!

Every year I say I'm not going to wait until the last week to finish up my shopping. And when I think about it, I have finished but I keep going back and buying more for the kids. Where we'll put this stuff I don't know.

Today is the last day of school for the kids so I plan to stay home tomorrow and do nothing! No shopping, no wrapping, no cooking!!

I've just not felt very much in the holiday spirit. I've done a bit of shopping, but that's it. No tree up yet nor decorations.

but hope you do take time to relax, you deserve it.

Shi
I hope that you are able to get some much needed sleep. That everyone gets feeling better. It sounds like the books are coming along. Christmas is almost here and things will slow down for everyone.
I know that I am feeling a little overwhelmed with all that is going on in my life.

Shi, I can totally relate to this feeling - if only my body looked thin to match it. We've been taking turns being sick, I'm on the rotation right now, I do the shopping for my kids, my family, my dh's 2 families and all of the extras (coworkers, teachers, etc), I do the cards, drive the kids for school caroling trips and doctor appts. The family's interest in helping to decorate or bake usually fades pretty quickly after we get started. It should all culminate with an all day family marathon on Christmas Eve, spending the day with 1 of dh's families and the late afternoon & evening with mine. Christmas morning is all about the kids, but I can start winding down about then. I'm looking forward to it.

Hope you are able to find some quiet time for yourself real soon. Take care.
