Only nine days to go!

Only nine days to go until Spring arrives! I can hardly wait!! This has been one long winter I won't be sorry to see go...

Of course, I know that the calendar isn't the last word. I was in Gatlinburg one year on April 2 when we had 24 inches of snow! But come March 21, I'm going to paint my toenails, pack away the coats, and hope for the best. :)

And while we're on the topic of calendars... let's talk about this nasty time change! My poor body can't cope. I'm trying to make myself go to sleep at night, and then when the alarm goes off, I'm groggy and sleepy. I think we should "gain" an hour in the spring AND in the fall!! That's my kind of time change. Of course, it would totally screw up the calendar, but it's all about me - right??? Ha!

At the top of this blog, the pic of the day is Jake's Creek Falls in the Smokies. We were hiking there this past Tuesday, and it was an absolutely perfect spring-like day.

So here's the challenge - hunker down for the nine more official days of winter, and then no matter what the weather, ditch the parkas and gloves and celebrate the official start of spring!

Wishing you all warm sunshine, gentle breezes, and lovely April days.

We've had some gorgeous sunny days this past week too. I didn't wait on the official opening of Spring to paint my toenails. Gave myself a complete pedicure this past week. I think it was Jodi or Jana who has a neat poem about toenail polish do's and don'ts they had posted last year.

Love the picture. I think the Smokey Mountains are one of the most beautiful places in the United States. They are just stunning in the spring when everything is blooming.

Lisa - You beat me to it! Of course, the fact that you live in south Georgia may have something to do with it. We're actually in the seventies here today and tomorrow. Bliss...

Maybe I can do the toenail thing tonight... how about Passionate Pink... or Romantic Red???

Janice

P.S. Karen - planning a wedding is so much fun! I hope everything falls into place for you guys. :)

We've been having gorgeous weather in the 80's lately. Our weatherman on the radio said that it was going to "cool off" to 84 on Wednesday! I started to laugh.
I think it was Jana that posted the toenail polish poem.

Janice, what a lovely photo. It's perfect to usher in spring. :)

The weather has been absolutely beautiful here in San Francisco the last few days. I wore my hoodie instead of my warm winter coat to work today. That is a big deal. I'm hoping this wonderful weather continues after my cold goes away.

Shiloh - off my trusty digital camera! I am a picture taking/camera junkie! And now that everything is digital, it is so easy to play with them!

what a pretty picture. I so hate this time change. This weather is messing with my poor head.
