Good Morning!
I love everything about romance. I love the fact that my wonderful husband is my very best friend and that we have so much in common. I love that he will stop on the side of the road when he's on his way home from work and pick me wild flowers.
I love romance books. Will the next book I open be the one I lose myself in? Will the author transport me to another time, place or world? Will she make me laugh or cry? Or both? I want to be swept away. I want to be a part of the romance.
Yes, it's going to be in the 70's all week in Texas so spring is in the air :) At least until Sunday when we have a cold front coming through. Okay, I know a high of 58 would be a heat wave to most people, but it's still cold to most Texans.
I'm just finishing up a bonus book. Yea, a little unexpected gift to readers for an anthology I'm in. Once March is behind me, I'll have a little breathing room. Yeah, I know, I said that last month but I really think it might happen this time. Then the last part of March--around the 27th, Close Encounters of the Sexy Kind comes out. I always get so nervous when a book hits the shelves.
My editor sent me some extra copies of Close Encounters of the Sexy Kind--woo-hoo!! I'll give one away today from a randomly chosen comment from today's blog. ALSO, I'll announce the winner tonight around 9pm central/10pm eastern time--on the blog. I'll be going to the post office in the morning if the winner will e-mail me their address I can mail it tomorrow. The last contest I had, the two winners didn't contact me. I'd really like to give a book away so if I'm not contacted by 10pm Wednesday night, I'll draw a different winner. You can contact me at kkelley@classicnet.net
Good Luck!

I read your opening paragraph about your husband being your best friends and thought to myself "how nice that someone else feels the same way I do". My husband doesn't pick wildflowers (difficult to do in a powerchair LOL) but he often brings home little gifts to let me know how much he loves me :D In return I try and let him know how I feel by doing things for him.
What a wonderful relationship and how fortunte you are. Rare indeed to find someone ideal to be with. My husband is supportive but works so that takes up his entire strength and energy. Congrats on the book and all the best.
that is nice to have.
What a great husband you have.
My husband does things romantic like that too.
Love the cover.
It is neat when your husband is also your best friend, that was how it was like with mine........
Who totally cool. You guys are very lucky
Congrats on the release
I can't wait to read this book, the people who didn't contact you must be insane. I love romance novels too, they are such an escape. Happy Pancake Tuesday:)
Loved your blog today it was very touching so great to here that there are still good men out there. I'm single and still looking for that right one, you got lucky. Count me in for the drawing I would love to win a copy.
I think the secret to a happy marriage is always treat your spouse like your best friend, but it is a two way street.
Also, I think Karl and I married so very young that we were always too poor to get a divoce so we had to make it past all those hard times.
Yeah, I love my cover, too. Lets all say a quick prayer that it flies off the shelves LOL
Oh, and my son has recently gotten engaged. We absolutely adore Jodie. I think she needed him as much as he needed her. Oh, and they mnet through match.com--I think is what it's called. Too cute. They're planning to marry in October.
Karen
You lucky girl getting great warm weather. I wish I was in Texas, lol or at least somewhere warm.
Your hubby sounds like a sweetie and definitely a keeper!
I love romance books too. I stared reading as a teenager and still going strong.
Karen, that's so sweet. I love that he's your best friend and also the love of your life. What a wonderful relationship you both have :)
Karen, I'm so looking forward to CEOTSK. The alien soap is such a great marketing tool.
Congrats to you and your husband. It says alot about both of you to make it past the hurdles of a new marriage. Eddie and I will celebrate 20 years together in May, and every day I feel like our relationship grows stronger. (And we have a 16 year old who loves to play us against each other) A great sense of humor and treating each other the way we want to be treated is a big help.

I can't wait to read the new book Karen! Good luck with what you are working on now!
I love romances for many of the reasons you mention.
When we find that special soulmate hold on tight. Your sentence brought it to me fully and it was so accurate. Loved the cover artwork for the book and romances always weave their spell upon me.
Don;t count me in the contest. I have been lucky enough to have read Close Encounters of the Sexy Kind (FANTASTIC BOOK!).
My hubs is also my best friend. We can talk about anything and everything and even finish each others sentences!
Awww what a sweetie of a husband you have!
I love romance books too and you are so lucky it's hot in Texas. It's cold and rainy here.
The front cover of Close Encounters of the Sexy Kind is gorgeous and sexy!
Please count me in the contest!
Thanks,
Terri
This would be nice to win!!!
Awe, how sweet :) I love the cover of the book, it looks great. Congrats and thank you on finishing the bonus book. :)
A perfect day is curling up in bed with a romance book that I can read from start to finish.
I would love to read Close Encounters of the Sexy Kind.
I can't believe my comment came through twice. Sorry about that! I had to put in the code three times so I guess we should be glad it didn't show up three times.
You're lucky to have such a sweet husband & a great relationship!
I'm looking forward to Close Encounters - it sounds wonderful!
How sweet. Your opening paragraph got me. My hubby can be pretty sweet too. I worked on Valentines day night so I didn't really expect anything. We didn't get to see each other because he worked during the day and I worked at night. Anyway, when I got off work and went to my car, he had snuck out and painted red hearts all over my car windows and wrote happy valentines day. He then put a three or four foot really sweet valentines day card there too. I was touched! Can't wait for the new book. I think it sounds great :)
And the winner is Lisa f Woo-hoo, congrats Lisa!!! (I only counted your first comment, by the way :)
Send me your snail mail to kkelley@classicnet.net and I'l get a book in the mail to you tomorrow.
Thanks to everyone for making comments. I enjoyed each and every one of them.
Karen
Thanks, Karen. Sorry I didn't check back last night to see who the lucky winner was. Today my youngest is home again with a stomach virus and I didn't even think about checking the blog. I've sent you a private email with my address.
